Priscilla was written and directed by Sofia Coppola, who is also known for the films The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation, and Marie Antoinette. The 1985 memoir Elvis and Me, written by Priscilla herself with Sandra Harmon, served as the inspiration for the movie, which is currently under post-production.
