Priscilla was written and directed by Sofia Coppola, who is also known for the films The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation, and Marie Antoinette. The 1985 memoir Elvis and Me, written by Priscilla herself with Sandra Harmon, served as the inspiration for the movie, which is currently under post-production. Regarding Priscilla’s role as an executive producer on her project, she continued, “I’ve met with her a couple times, and she’s been extremely open. As we prepare to film, she has been a great support for Cailee as well. “I want the emotional impact to seem real. I’m appreciative that she’s been so patient because she’s probably told these stories a million times. It’s incredible how much information she can recall about that period of her life.
